Idyllic Thurø Sailing Club

At the entrance to the South Funen Archipelago, you will find the Thurø Sailing Club, which is located at Gambøt Marina. Thurø Sailing Club has control over the two easternmost piers in the harbor, and it is here you can experience a particularly active and intense maritime atmosphere. Here, youth sailors and others with saltwater in their veins can enjoy the protected waters of Thurøbund. The view from the clubhouse, which also houses a sailor’s lounge, is magnificent. The harbor features a lovely BBQ area with tables and benches - a popular meeting spot.

Thurø Sailing Club offers guests free rental of SUP boards and kayaks, so if you sail there, you can explore the area from the shallow waters. Swimming is possible at the harbor. There is a bathing platform at the easternmost pier that can be used. The waters are protected from easterly and westerly winds.

In the town behind the harbor, you’ll find the SPAR grocery store, a bakery, and restaurants. Not to forget the local Thurø Brewery, which produces both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beer. All of this is within 1 km from the harbor. If you want to go to Svendborg, you can take the bus that runs from the town.
Guest sailors are welcome to use the clubhouse at the harbor. There are also toilets and showers, as well as a tea-kitchen that may be used.
