It is not without reason that Nysted Harbour won the award Prisen for God Arkitektur, a Danish award for outstanding architecture, in 2010. The harbour has something entirely unique with its undisturbed idyllic setting, shaped by the buildings painted in Swedish red, which lends harmony to the overall impression with the town.  

The harbour is the heart of the town with is liveliness and activities throughout the summer. It is well situated at the end of Nysted Nor, as well as being close to nature. Here you can find peace and quiet, but also enjoy life around the harbour. 

The harbour is renovated with a new quay and floating piers. The amenities a great and there are shopping opportunities near the harbour. 

Every year, Nysted Harbour provides the finishing line for the Haikutter Regatta, an annual race that is part of the Rostock Hanse Sail, which is an incredibly festive event where many beautiful, well-preserved ships call at the harbour.
