Nyborg Marina
Nyborg Marina, close to the Great Belt
Nyborg Marina is an obvious choice for sailors on their summer trip, beautifully situated at the Nyborg Fjord. The trip through the fjord is an experience in its own right, only 8 nautical miles long and with Nyborg Castle as a guidepost. The harbour has always been an important crossing point between Zealand and Funen, and the area surrounding the old ferry harbour has developed into a big and beautiful marina with space for everyone.
The marina is divided into four sections, two of which are for visiting sailors. The Western Harbour is closest to town, with restaurants and shops all the way down to the quay. The Eastern Harbour is also close to town, and best suited for larger vessels, that can moor alongside the quay.
The fishing harbour with its wooden sheds reminiscent of the famous Skagen-area, adds to the maritime atmosphere. Here you buy fish right on the pier or just enjoy a walk among the small and large cutters.
The harbour’s location right at the doorstep of the city provides ample opportunity for entertainment. Especially Nyborg Castle is worth a visit, the oldest royal castle in the North, dating back to 1170. Here you will find Denmark’s oldest open air theatre, Nyborg Voldspil. The city has a long and exciting history and is a ideal destination for your summer adventures.
The harbour has the Blue Flag, thus being top notch environmentally.
