The harbor is close to Trellemarken, which is a recreational nature area of 16 hectares. The area is a breeding site for amphibians, and 22 water holes have been created for the benefit of i.a. the population of green-spotted toads, also called whistle toads. Path system in the area connects Oringepynten and other green areas and beach. Thus you can enjoy nature on the way to i.a. the market town Vordingborg and Danmarks Borgcenter with Gåsetårnet. Sjællandsleden, which is a regional hiking route, is led through Trellemarken, just as a marked heart trail goes through the area.
